About Me

Hi, I am Michael Gentile, and I am a Realtor and the Publisher of Free Brew Estate. I was born and raised in Los Angeles.  I recently discovered home brewing, and have been cooking most of my life.  I was a very picky eater until I learned to make most foods myself, and became intimately aware of the ingredients.  Now, I am a very adventurous eater.
Blogging was always tough for me.  I tried multiple times to maintain a blog with little readership and a one sided, preachy conversation about my business.  I realized I was not getting anywhere, no one was listening, and even I was bored reading my writing.  Then it dawned upon me that I wasn't writing about my passion.  While Real Estate is something I am very good at getting results with, it does not have the visceral quality that writing about food does (especially when I am hungry while writing).
I post giveaways on my site as a means of word of mouth advertising.  I promote my blog to help spread the word about my professional services.  I am available to help you buy, lease, or sell your properties (residential and commercial).
I have monetized this site and disclose it to my readers. I believe in full disclosure and that is part of being an upstanding, honest person.
To say that I am a foodie is an understatement.  I cook, brew, grow hops, make cheese, build wood fired ovens and koi ponds, and garden.  I desperately want a cellar, where I can cure meats like salamis, store and ferment my beers, and learn to grow mushrooms.  My family raises their own pigs, cows, goats, chickens, and horses on an 80+ acre ranch in SoCal. Many people share similar interests (especially in brewing), and that is why I started this blog, to start a conversation about what we consume and how to make it better.

I am also the current Director of Activities for the Maltose Falcons, the oldest home brew club in the world. I am pro freedom, against taxes and regulations, and a proponent of personal responsibility.  I have helped to put on many events for different nonprofits such as my brew club the Maltose Falcons, feeding the homeless at the Easter Swinefest, and a family picnic for another nonprofit.  I want to help bring a large scale food fest to Los Angeles.  I also aspire to help with community gardens, start a brewery, and join the slow food movement.

I have made travelling a priority in my life, and have traveled extensively through Asia and Western Europe.  Going on adventures without many plans satisfies my wanderlust, and roughing it in cities and nature are part of the experience.  I try to find the experiences away from the tourist traps and I try and find the food that is authentic and high quality.  You can find most authentic cultural foods in LA if you look hard enough.  The food I couldn't finish?  Stinky tofu in Taiwan.
Social Media plays a very large role in my day to day activities, you can find me on FacebookLinkedIn,  Twitter, and among the many communities that I am a part of.  You can contact me at (818) 726-5982 regarding my services for Real Estate and consulting or just use the multiple avenues to contact me throughout the internet.
